I won!

Jess over at Tat-licious had a give-away of some of her HDT. I received a package full of lovelies the other day.
 Awesome!
 Robots! =D
Beautiful HDT! The pic doesn't do the colors justice, they look so much richer in person. From back to front: Rustic Cranberry, Pink Western, Chocolate Romance. The pink in Rustic Cranberry is REALLY PINK! Thanks Jess!
If you like HDT you can find her's here.

Continuing the Tat-Along

On the second leaf, I did a downward picot for the first normal picot and then folded the work over itself (like a movie clapboard) which made it lay more nicely. You really have to pay attention on the leaf, not get up to do anything else between start and finish.

Tischband Tat-Along: Blatt 2 pattern

I think for the rest of the leaves I'm going to make the first 'real' picot a downward picot and then just fold the tatting over itself.  I'm leaving the last two flowers for after the leaves so that I can easily join them. You can read more about the Tat-Along here.

RIP Tatting Goddess

I've never met Gina, but she was always lovely when we were discussing tips/tricks in certain tatting patterns. She will be missed.

Tischband Tat-Along!

Fresh of this years TIAS we have a great tat-along from Umi&Tsuru of a Ruth Scharf pattern (You can check out the details here).

First comes the Blute 1, which are the flowers. I've only done two so far, and I might keep the last two until after the leaves.

I'll be doing the leaves in yellow.

Metallic Thread, More Windmills, TIAS

I've tried to use metallic thread before but it just never works out. So I thought I'd finally try the DMC metallic thread... so much easier to work with then I expected it to be! I haven't broken the thread while tatting once! Look at the shiiiiiiny

And we come to the end of TIAS. The finished piece is a little billy goat. Thanks so much Jane for another great tat it and see!

Waiting for TIAS

TIAS is almost done, here's the progress so far:
While waiting to finish TIAS, I found these little findings for cheap on etsy. After having received some findings from Fox (thanks Fox!) I wondered what other findings were about and what tatting with them would be like (especially after seeing all that Jane has done)
The findings are just the right size to fit in the middle of Konior's Windmills worked in Lizbeth 40. I'm not happy with how the joins to the findings lay, so I'll have to work on that some.

Can't wait for the rest of TIAS
